Thin pavers over concrete: 1 inch natural granite
Black Ice L7 pavers are 1 inch (25 mm) thick, the thickness people look for when they want to cover an existing concrete patio or walk instead of tearing it out. They cost $8 a square foot by the pallet, pickup in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.
Can you put pavers over concrete?
Often, yes, if the slab is sound. Your installer checks it first: cracks that keep moving, heaving and water that pools on the slab are reasons to fix or replace it before covering it.
Thin natural stone over concrete is usually set in a mortar bed rather than on loose sand, and movement joints in the slab carry through to the stone. Ask your installer which setting method suits your slab.
Check the height first
The stone adds 1 inch plus the setting bed. Before you order, check door thresholds, the first step and the slope that carries water off the slab.

A concrete driveway is the one slab to leave bare. At 1 inch thick these pavers are for foot traffic only.

- No. We sell the stone. Your installer builds the base and lays the pavers.
- How many pavers are in a square foot?
- About 4.65. Each paver is 7.87 x 3.94 inches, and one pallet of about 1,250 pavers covers 269 sq ft.
- Can I buy less than a pallet?
- Not through this site. The minimum order is one pallet, 269 sq ft.
- Does the price include delivery?
- No. Freight depends on your ZIP and on how the truck gets unloaded. We quote it by email before you pay anything.
- Can these pavers go on a driveway?
- No. One inch granite is not rated for vehicle loads. A driveway needs stone two inches thick or more.
- Can I see the stone before I buy?
