Pool deck pavers in dark granite
Black Ice L7 is a 1 inch natural granite paver with a rough split face. For a pool surround on a base your installer signs off on, it costs $8 a square foot by the pallet, or $7 from three pallets.
How much stone a pool surround takes
Add the deck width twice to the pool length and to the pool width, multiply, and subtract the pool itself. Then add 10% for cuts.

Before you pick dark stone for a pool
Dark stone gets hotter in direct sun than light stone. It works best where the deck gets shade for part of the day, and on the paths and borders around the pool.
The top is split face: rough, not polished. The datasheet gives water absorption of 0.06 to 0.26% and compressive strength of 24,200 to 31,300 PSI.
What the stone is
Natural labradorite, a dark igneous stone the stone trade sells as granite, from the Neverovka quarry in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine. The color is dark charcoal with fine silver glints.

- Is it real granite?
- It is natural stone, not concrete. Geologically it is labradorite, a dark igneous rock. In the stone trade it is sold under the granite name.
- Can I buy less than a pallet?
- Not through this site. The minimum order is one pallet, 269 sq ft.
- Does the price include delivery?
- No. Freight depends on your ZIP and on how the truck gets unloaded. We quote it by email before you pay anything.
- Do you install?
- No. We sell the stone. Your installer builds the base and lays the pavers.
- Can I see the stone before I buy?
- Yes. Come see it at our warehouse in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, by appointment. Tick "I want to see the stone first" in the quote form and we email you times.
